What is Constant Current LED Strip?
Constant current LED strip is a type of lighting system where a constant current is maintained in the output of the power supply. This is achieved by adjusting the number of LEDs in series and the resistance on each series to maintain a constant current and brightness. This method allows for the control of the working voltage and current of the LEDs, thereby achieving the desired control over brightness and color.
Benefits of Constant Current LED Strip
Traditional LED light strips are constant voltage LED strips. One drawback of long run constant voltage LED strips is the presence of voltage drop across the entire length of the LED strip light. When the series length exceeds 5 meters, there can be inconsistent brightness between the first and last segments of the LED strip. To address this issue, constant current LED strip were introduced. These LED strips build upon the circuitry of traditional constant voltage LED light strips by incorporating a constant current IC chip in each group of LED circuit loops. This chip automatically adjusts the voltage across the LED circuit, ensuring it operates at the rated voltage. As a result, the brightness at the head and tail of the LED strip lighting remains consistent.
Due to its unique design, ultra long constant current LED strip can be powered from one end and can be connected up to 10m, 20m, 30m, or even longer without any voltage drop.
